2. Ability goals

Get the students to find beauty ,appreciate beauty and create beauty after learning the module .Draw a conclusion that beauty is found everywhere. Life is beautiful as long as you want to appreciate it.

Enable the students to understand the reading passage and learn as much information as possible.

Enable the students to talk about the short history of Chinese painting and Western painting.

3. Learning ability goals

Enable the students to understand the reading passage by skimming, scanning and so on.

Help the students learn how to talk about the short history of Western painting.

Enable the students to talk about their opinions about different styles of Western art.

Teaching methods

Skimming and scanning; individual, pair or group work; discussion;oral presentation

Teaching aids

a computer, a projector and so on.

4.Teaching procedures

Step 1 Lead-in To find beauty

Show some pictures of great buildings to the students and ask the students to list words that describe architectures to find that beauty exists in architecture .

Show a painting whose title is hope by Picasso to ask students to find beauty existing in art .

Present the pictures of American president who was delivering a speech :the Audicity of Hope to inspire students to find beauty and power in language .

Step 2. To ecourage students to appreciate beauty that exists in art works .

Warming -up

The stage is so important that it should be given proper attention as it prepares students for the content of this module.

Ask the student to answer the following questions and lead in the new class.

Who has been to an art gallery?

If so, what did you see there?

What do you enjoy most? Can you give an account of it?

Let the students talk about the questions with their parterns.
