Teaching Procedure

Step One: Warming up

Greet each other and ask two questions

1.There are so many classes every day, and every day you must get up early. Are you tired?

2.there are more and more people are in semi-health,what’s the most important reason which makes people terrible?

(students need to answer the first question and give some examples about unhealthy habits)

Step Two: Ask the students enjoy a short video.

Question: what’s your feeling after seeing the scene in the video?

(students freely talk about their feelings with their partners.)

Step Three: Give more information about smoking. Ask the students to turn to page 11 and finish activity 1.then check answers together

Step Four: Group work. Ask the students make a list of the dangers of smoking after knowing the facts about smoking. Then discuss the items in their list.

Step Five: Ask them to discuss some questions in pairs

1.Has anyone been to your school to talk about the danger of smoking?

2. Are your friends and family mainly smokers or non-smokers?
