Step 1:Warming up
Purpose:To introduce the topic--newspapers and magazines
Show Ss a photo of a famous female actress—Angelababy,and let Ss say something about her.
Ask them “how do you get information?” ( by surfing the Internet,by watching TV,by listening to the radio ,by reading newspapers, by reading books or magazines)
Step 2:Introduction
Purpose: To test Ss some basic knowledge of newspapers and magazines. How much do you know about newspapers and magazines?
Test 1.Types of Magazines: yearly 年刊quarterly季刊monthly月刊fortnightly半月刊weekly周刊daily日刊
Test 2.parts of a newspaper----article, front cover, front page ,headline ,photograph
Test 3:Classification(分类)
Box A :people who work on newspapers and magazines: editor journalist, photographer
Box B:types of news items: business, celebrity ,economy, fashion ,Politics, sport, International
Step 3: Speaking
Purpose: To ask Ss whether they read newspapers, and lead in the topic—do you think newspapers necessary or not?
