设计主题

文学阅读与欣赏授课类型阅读课1.整体设计思路、指导依据说明This is a reading lesson. It aims to practice and improve students’ reading skills and spoken English by reading and appreciating a piece of literature works. Besides, it aims to improve students’ translating ability during the process of careful reading.2.教学背景分析

Students are weak in reading comprehension. They read the whole passage from the beginning to the end without thinking of questions and tasks. So it is reading that help them improve their reading skills. In order to improve their reading skills, especially the skills of skimming and scanning, I choose reading as the emphasis.3.教学目标分析Knowledge Aims

1 To learn the main idea of The Steamboat, a section from The adventures of Huck Finn

Ability Aims:

To use skimming and scanning to find key information in The steamboat

Emotion Aims:

1 Students learn to be braver and kinder after learning from Huck.

2 Students learn to help those in need after appreciating the Steamboat.4.教学重点、难点分析Important points:

1 two reading skills: skimming and scanning

2 appreciate the steamboat, a section from The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

Difficult Points:

1 appreciate a piece of literature writing.

2 continue to write a piece of literature writing.5.教学过程设计Step 1: lead-in

teacher: Display the preview(a video) of The adventures of Huckleberry Finn and then ask several questions, such as have you found the name of the film in the video? Who is the writer? What does it mainly talk about?

students: Answer the questions respectively.

teacher: Give the correct answers if they don’t know and add more information related to the answers.

purpose: Use a video and questions to lead the students to the reading material and make them be interested in what will be learnt next.

Step 2: Reading

Part one Pre-reading (self-learning)

teacher: Ask the students to look at the two pictures and guess who they are, where they are and what the boy is pointing at?

students: Look at the pictures and guess.

purpose: to raise their interest and lead them to the text.

Part two While -reading (guidance-learning and group work)

Fast-reading
