To write about the passage about the opinion of the war.

Teaching difficulty

Let the students to express their opinions about the war.

Let the students know about the importance of the D-Day Landings.

Teaching Procedures:

Step 1 Lead-in

It’s time for class. Class begins, Good morning, everyone. Sit

down, please.

The teacher will ask two students to come to the platform to make a presentation about the Second World War. (one student express the information in English, the other translate)

Then, the teacher will show some pictures about the war on the screen.

The teacher asks “What’s your feeling about the war? Please use one word to describe it.(adjective) think for a while.”

Write the question on the blackboard, and then ask the student to answer it. Write the answers on the blackboard.

The teacher: “They are your words about the war, but there are some famous persons, they say some famous sentences about the war. ”

Show three famous people. Let the students read the sentence together. Then ask somebody to translate.

Go on showing some logos about war and peace. This is introduction.

Step 2 Reading

Before reading, review the words in the class. Ask the students to read it and translate one by one.

The teacher says “Please open your book, turn to page 72. Let’s look at the title, Do you know what’s the meaning of title?”

Then explain the title on the screen.

Period 1 Fast-reading

Match the passage with the main idea. (3 minutes)

Show the question on the screen.

Passage 1 A. Able Company’s contribution to D-Day

Passage 2 B. The cemetery(墓地) and memorial to remember
