6.Teaching steps
Step1 Greetings and lead-in
Show some pictures of playing basketball and lead the class into the topic:basketball. Show them some pictures and words of ground facilities and team members and the ways to shoot and teach them the words and phrases.
Purpose：students can grasp some words and phrases and are able to learn some knowledge of basketball .
Step2.introduce NBA
Students read the passage on the textbook and get the definition of NBA then I will show them a map of the teams of NBA and show the names of the 30 teams.
Purpose:
To let students learn about NBA
Step3.Reading comprehension
1).Students read the part two of cultural corner and get the main information of the origin of basketball (from those aspects: when ,where, who ,why ,how and result) and finish the mind map on the PPT together.
Purpose:
To train the skills of reading and using mind map to grasp main ideas.
