Students in grade three have already grasped the skills of cloze ,but they also have difficulty in understanding the cloze material if there are too many unfamiliar words in the text. Thus, the teacher will give them more skills about how to deal with the difficulties, in which the logical analysis is important. The teacher designed an additional activity to help students understand the skills better. At last, the students should know the skills and also do better in cloze.

Teaching aims:

I. Knowledge and skills

Enable students to revise some words:application,

Enable students to master the following phrases:in the pit of , take out , pick out ,go blank ,be on a roll.

3. Train students’ ability to have a better understanding of the major skills in doing cloze test.

4. Train students’ ability to improve their abilities to solve the problems of cloze test by practicing.

II. Process and methods

1. Train students’ dealing with the cloze test by individual work;

2. Train students’ communicating ability and summary skills through group discussion;

III. Emotion and values

Try to raise students’ cooperation awareness in their study by group work.

1.Encourage students to learn the important words and phrases;

2. Train students’ ability to have a better understanding of the major skills in doing cloze test.
