Step 1 Warming up and leading in(12m)
Play the video showing Arabella Kushner, US President Donald Trump’s granddaughter, reciting Chinese literary classics and let the students read a recruitment message from Silicon Valley in the United States Sep. 15, 2017and a TED speech about why so many Chinese learn English to lead in the topic and arouse the students’ interest.
When watching the video, students have to answer the following two questions
Q1:Arabella背诵了那两首唐诗？
Q2:为什么越来越多的人学习英语？
Let the students discuss in groups and share their ideas of why there are increasing number of people learning English or Chinese
Appreciate some sentences from the reading passage.
