Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Brainstorming and Lead-in
T: Nowadays, more and more people like travelling. Do you like travelling? Which places of interest do you like best? (ask students have a brainstorming about travelling to different places )
S: I like travelling to Hainan, because the climate agrees with me and I like the seashores and the blue sea there…
Then the teacher show some pictures of her favorite place e.g. Mount Kilimanjaro, Himalayas, the Sahara Desert, the River Nile, Lake Victoria, the wild animals on the grasslands and ask the students where can they find these places.( Africa)
Step 2 Fast reading
Ask students to read the passage very quickly and find out the right order of the events according to Toby’s plan.
① Fly to Morocco from London
②Visit Lake Victoria
③Travel through the Sahara Desert
④See wild animals in Kenya
⑤Climb Kilimanjaro in Tanzania
⑥Go water rafting in the Nile
