《Word power： Using suffixes； Sales and marketing》公开课教案优质课下载
课堂设计指导思想：
本堂课是以介绍名词和动词加后缀变为形容词的构词法的为主的词汇教学课，同时学习销售及市场营销方面的词汇。词汇是语言基础知识的重要组成部分，构词法能帮助学生提高掌握词汇的效率，有助于对学生的基础知识和基本能力的培养。但需要注意的是，强调基础知识指的是语言知识的灵活运用，而非拘泥于一条条的规则，必须结合具体语境。教师在语境中教学，学生在语境中学习，语境中运用。
Teaching aims:
1. To learn that some adjectives are divided by adding suffixes to nouns or verbs.
2. To learn more words and expressions related to sales and marketing.
3. To enlarge our vocabulary by thinking about more words that are created by adding suffixes and
apply them into practice.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead-in (the World Smile Day)
Ask students to remember the slogans of the World Smile Day .Pay attention to red words.
Review the word formation and common prefixes.

Step 2 Filling in the blanks
Fill in the blanks according to the words in brackets.

Step 3 Learn the rules of adding suffixes to nouns and verbs
1. Show some of the different suffixes used to form adjectives. Such as nouns followed by y, ly, ic al,ous,ful ,verbs fowwowed by ed, ing,able,ive.
2. Enjoy more examples and try to memorize them
Step 4 Competition
Divide the whole class into five groups and encourage students to write out words that
are created by using the knowledge of word formation. The group that has the most words wins

Step 5 Apply the rules into practice
Ask students to read the advertisement at P.6 and fill in the blanks. Form adjectives by adding the correct suffixes to the given words. Check the answers as a class and make sure the students have no problems using the suffixes learnt in this section.
