总体思路:

本堂课的教学设计采用:导入(Lead-in)阅读策略讲解(Reading strategy),快读(Fast-reading),细读(Detailed-reading),讨论(Discussion)五个步骤进行。

Teaching procedures:

Step 1. Lead- in

The teacher starts the lesson with a short video about the Olympics as well as a series of pictures taken in the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.

Step 2 Reading strategy

Show the definition of a speech and ways to make a good speech.

Step 3 Fast reading

Raise three questions from the reading passage, ask students read it quickly to find out the answers directly.

The history and significance of the Olympic Games.

He hoped that the Olympic Games would make it possible for people of all countries to live side by side in peace.
