Step Ⅰ Greeting and lead-in
Greet the new class
Show our students a short piece of video about a lovely princess--Elsa. And then show a picture of another princess – Turandot.
Step Ⅱ Reading strategy
I will explain some knowledge about a new style of writing— a review and make sure that most of the students know what a review is.
Step Ⅲ Reading
Have the students scan the first and the second paragraph and find the answers to the two questions on the screen. This step will help them practise their reading strategy—scanning.
Have the students skim the second part of this review, from para.3 to para.7.
Have our students skim the third part of this review and ask them to fill in the blanks.
Go through the last part and help them realize that some adjectives can be used to express the feelings of writers.
Step Ⅳ Task-based reading
I will show them a short review and give my understanding of it to help them understand much knowledge of a review better
Step Ⅴ Group work
