Communicative Language Teaching,Competency-based Language Teaching.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Leading in.

Play Nessun Dorma in Turandot for the students to enjoy.

Ask the students a question, Who is the man in the video? (Calaf)

Tell: Let’s read Turandot to find out why he cannot sleep tonight.

Step 2 Feedback on the pre-tasks.

Let the students turn on the PAD and check their answers to the questions assigned in the pre-task.

Let the students read the story of Turandot again and then rearrange events of the story in the correct order. Let the students share their answers on the PADs.

Step 3 Exploring the theme.

Teacher presents 3 questions on the PAD for the students to discuss in groups. After the discussion, each group will share their opinions with the whole class through their spokesperson.
