Learning situation analysis
Most students in the class are good at English ,but they are not willing to open their mouths to speak, let alone singing an English song in public.The aim of designing the lesson is to encourage the students to sing loudly and to be confident.
Teaching aim
Help students use what they have learnt to finish a project by working together.At the same time ,enjoy the students’ talent show and web page presentation.
Emotion aims
1.Train the students’ sense of co-operation with each other.
2.Train the students’ sense of being more brave and confident in their performance.
3.Get the students to learn about the musical patterns of western music and Chinese music.
Teaching important and difficult points
1. Help the students understand the type of music by reviewing the passage---from the blues to pop.
2. Ask the students to have a discussion about which singer or band they will focus on, help them to present them to the class and also give guidance about how they organize their web page.

Step 1 Lead-in
In this unit, we have discussed different kinds of music and the history and development of western music.Ask what impresses them most.
Step 2 Revision
Ask the students to review the article “From the blues to pop” by filling the blanks.
