1.To spell and use key words and sentences skillfully.

2.To learn about birthday food around the world.

2. To go over the usage of countable nouns and uncountable nouns;

Step 1 Pre-reading

Play a short video about birthday and then ask the students some questions and have a brainstorm about birthday and tell them the special food on different festivals then lead to the topic

T: Well, on your birthday, what do you usually eat or do? Let’ talk freely.

What do you usually do and do on your birthday?

Eg: I usually eat … my friends usually give me some gifts, we do … together that day; my mother always buys me …. My father buys me …

(设计意图:创设生日情景,使学生进入过生日的情景中去,有助于学生对于谈论食物的喜好,同时通过头脑风暴激活相关背景知识,调动学生积极性,为阅读教学做好铺垫。)
