Skimming
Leading the whole class to skim the whole passage and discuss the topics and basic structure of the two pieces of news. Some simple questions are discussed:
Where was the meeting held?
What did they talk about?
Scanning
Ask the students to do an intensive reading on the two piece of news after analyzing the meaning and possible location of the questions of Exercise Two in Page 22. Then lead the whole class to correct the answers.
