Step 2. Fast reading
Task One: Read the text quickly and choose a heading for each paragraph.
(Purpose: To develop students’ ability of skimming and scanning.)
Step 3. Careful reading
Task Two: Read the first paragraph and fill in the blanks.
Task Three:Read the second papagraph and answer the questions.
Task Four: Read paragraph 3and 4 to fill in the table relevant to the causes and effects of global warming.
Task Five: Read the last paragraph and decide whether ture or false. If not, why?
(Purpose: To improve students’ ability of intensive reading through several different tasks.)
