Work on 1b:
1. Ask students to name some activities they think are fun and some that are not fun. Students may have different answers for some activities. For example, “studied for a test ” may be fun for some students and not fun for others.
2. Draw pictures of the happy face and unhappy face on the board. Write the words fun under the happy face and the words not fun under the unhappy face.
3. Ask some Ss to share their points with others.

1. Listen. What did Sally and Jim do last weekend? Complete the chart.
2. Play the recording the first time. Students only listen.
Play the recording again. Ss listen and write down their answers.

1. Pay attention to the example in speech bubbles. Ask a pair of students to read the dialogue to the class.
2. Practice talking about what Jim and Sally did last weekend. Practice in pairs.
3. First read the dialogue together. Read both parts. Then make your own dialogues like that one with your partner. Tell what Sally and Jim did last weekend.
4. Ss practice for five minutes. Ask pairs of students to share their dialogues to the class.
