6.My teaching procedure(divided into 4 steps)

Step 2: Reading (220 mins )Answer these questions:

How did Zhang Pingyu plan her tour?2.What were the buildings mentioned in the text?3. What were they famous for?4. What happened to them?5.From the last paragragh, what can you conclude about the castle?Make a list of Zhang Pingyu’s tour of London and a comment on each place she visited.

Some important points:1.Worried about the time available,….2.Her first delight was going to the Tower.3…..had remained standing for one thousand years.4.To her great surprise,Zhang found the Queen’s jewels guarded by.... 5.There followed St.Paul’s Cathedral built after the terrible fire….

6.What interested her most was….7.….so Pingyu had a photo taken standing on….8.It seemed strange that…should have lived and died in London

Step 3 (10 mins)This part is to help with the output of language---practice

A project being a London tour guide. ( one from each group as the examiner).Exam 1Read and find out the description of each site mentioned above.Exam 2Organize a trip for four different groupsGroup 1 A group of teachers in architecture department from GermanyGroup 2A geography teacher with a group of students from China Group 3Some actors and actresses from Hongkong to perform a play called “Dianna’s death”Group 4A group of newly-married couples from Japan.Suggested words & expressions:Fantastic,breathtaking, magnificent,royal,historical, old-fashioned,thrilling,fantastic, overlooking,peculiar flavor….

Suggested sentence patterns:Hi,everyone.I’m… Welcome to….There is one thing worth mentioning….That’s why tourists flocked to….To our delight, the decked-buses are available….It’s time to say farewell….Step 4 Daily Homework (2 mins)1.Better the script as a tour guide.2.Digest the new words in the class.3.Read the important sentences as well as the whole passage again.4.Surf the internet to look up more information about UK ,time permitting
