According to the analysis of the reading material, I decide the key points and the difficult points:

Key points: To find out the main idea of the passage——the first aid for burns. And to master the useful expressions related and use them to express their own ideas.

Difficult points : Teach students how to use their reading skills, including skimming, scanning, intensive reading, to deal with the reading questions.

Teaching goals

(1). Knowledge goal

① To master the useful expressions related to first aid for burns and use them to express their own ideas.

② To find out the main idea of the passage——the treatment for different types of burns.

(2). Ability goal

① To use their reading skills, including skimming, scanning, intensive reading, to deal with the reading questions.

② To practice their language abilities, such as reading, speaking, and listening.

. Emotional goal

① Students strengthen their team spirit in their group work with others.

② To gain some useful knowledge for treating different types of burns before seeing a doctor.

Teaching methods

In order to achieve all these learning goals, I will use the following methods in my lesson.
