(一)重点:Lead Ss to use new words and language points to understand the reading passage and finish reading tasks.

教学过程

Step1:Lead in

Play a guessing game .

(设计意图: To catch Ss attention about the class. )

Step2:Pre- reading

Free talk . Look at some pictures and videos and talk about elephants.

(设计意图:To get more information about the passage from the pictures.)

Step3:While- reading ?

Skim and find the key sentence of each paragraph.

Scan and check the best title for the passage.

Careful reading. Read each paragraph and answer some questions.

Finish 2c by the blackboard design.

(设计意图:Enable Ss have a better understanding about the given material, Task-based Teaching method is used here to train Ss ability of reading skills. ?)

Step4 : Post-reading

Lead Ss to try retelling the passage by the blackboard design.

(设计意图:If Ss can finish this task well, they must benefit a lot in their spoken English.)

Step 5: Homework

To read the passage and retell.

(设计意图:to consolidate what they have learned this lesson.
