学情分析

通过Section A 的学习,学生已经能够正确地使用方位介词来描述物体之间的位置关系,本课在此基础上,继续学习一些标志符号和用英语为他人指点方向,不会有太大的障碍。

重点难点

辨别方向,学会用英语指路,画出路线图。

教学过程

Step 1 leading in

Greet the whole class.

Revise“Is there a ...... near here?”Yes, there is./No, there isn’t.

Step 2 Presentation:

(1)Draw some signs and teach the students.

(turn left/turn right, crossing, go along, at the first/second crossing, turn left/right when you see the…It’s on the/your left/right. It’s across from /in front of….)

(2) Do 1a. Match the words in the box with the signs.

(3) Draw a map of a street to ask for and give the dictions in pairs.

Step 3 Listening

Play the tape for the students (play twice)

play the tape and ask students to listen carefully.

Play the tape again and and ask students to finish 1 b.

Play the tape for the third time and ask students to finish 1c.

Step 4 Practice

Practise the conversation in pairs.

Step 5 Practice

Imagine you and your partner are the two people in the picture in 1b. Ask and answer questions about the places.

Homework

Write down the new words and sentences.

Write a conversation about the places in your town to ask for and give directions.
