Teaching and learning steps:

Step1: Pre-listening Activities

ⅠReview the new words

rubbish, take out the rubbish, fold, sweep, floor, mess, throw

Ⅱ Leading in and warming up

Teacher asks Ss two questions:

---What do you usually do on the weekend?

---Which one do you choose?

Go shopping./ Sleep all the time./ Do homework. /Help parents do some chores at home.

2. Learn new words and phrases

(1)Watch the pictures one by one on the screen and learn the key phrases

3. Presentation (1a)

(1) Ask some Ss the following questions and get the class to practice the use of the key phrases:

What kinds of chores do you often do?

What kinds of chores do you sometimes do?

What kinds of chores do you never do?

(2)Ask and answer in pairs.

Step2: While-listening Activities

T: Look at the picture, Peter’s grandma is coming. So Peter and his mother are talking about something.

1.Listening for the specific ideas. (1b)

Who will do these chores? Check (∨) Peter’s mother or Peter.
