Step1. warming-up

Show some pictures about parties to make students talk about them with the following questions:

---What are they doing?

---Do you want to have a party too?

---Mom, could I have a party?

Step 2. Presentation

1)Discussion in groups

Did you have a party before?

What should we do before a party?

2) Finish1a. Who can ask them? Write “parents” or “teenagers”。

3) Pair work to finish1b. Make conversations with the phrases in 1a. Make a model first. Suppose than I am a girl’s mother

Mother: Could you clean your room?

Child: Yes, I can.

Child: Could I invite my friends to a party?

Mother: No, you can’t have a party. You have a test on Monday

4) Listening practice.

a. Pre-listening

Sandy is going to have a party. Discuss with the Ss about what she should prepare for.

b. While-listening

Listen to the material and check the things in activity 1a.

c. Post-listening

Listen again and fill in the chart. And then complete the conversation.

Give Ss some listening skills.
