1. T shows two sentences:

It’s quite heavy .

It has the longest teeth and nose. And let students guess what animals it is .Then lead the symbol of China.

2.Comparison

T presents the pictures about the elephant and the panda with sentences . Ss guess the answer according to the two sentences and guess the symbol of China.

Ss need to write the sentences from three sides-height,weight and food.

用两句话让学生引发思考,动脑猜出两个动物。

写出基本句子,为以下要讲的比较句子做铺垫。

The first sentence

Height: The elephant is taller than the panda.The panda is shorter than the elephant. The elephant is 200cm taller than the panda.

Weight: The elephant weighs more than the panda.

The elephant weighs four times more than the panda.

Food: The elephant eats more than the panda.

T let students write the sentences and speak by themselves one by one

Ss try to answer the comparison about the elephant and the panda with taller, shorter and 200cm taller/shorter.

Ss try to compare with less than/four times less than.

Ss try to write the sentences by themselves according to the example.

T present some sentences:

The elephant weighs many times more than the panda.
