我所任教的学校地处农村，学生学习英语的环境较差，本课的教学对象为九年级学生，这一阶段的学生思维能力发展较快，自我意识增强，好奇心强，喜欢探索新鲜的事物，喜欢参与和竞赛。本课结合学生的心理特点，从激发学生的兴趣出发，从故事的角度再次唤起学生对英语的学习热情。同时九年级学生已经掌握了一定的英语基础知识，能够通过小组合作探究等学习方式，运用所学的语言基础知识自我学习，互相学习，鼓励他们主动参与教学活动，在课堂上能进入角色，真正成为学习的主体。在篇章阅读上，他们虽掌握了一定的阅读策略和技巧，但仍需要不断运用和巩固。从本单元来看，在第一课时中，学生已掌握了make的用法，并能用它来谈论对事物的感受，这也是顺利开展本课阅读活动的前提。

教学重难点：

Purpose：复习旧知，以旧引新，多媒体呈现表情的图片，利用happy的表情让学生初步思考What makes you happy? 为新课内容做铺垫。

Step 2. Lead-in and show the learning aims.

1. The teacher asks some questions.

“Are you happy today? ”

2. Listen to music “If you are happy!”.

T: A long time ago, there was a king. He had everything, but he was not happy... Do you want to know story? OK, today we are going to learn Section A 3a. Read the language goal.

Purpose：由歌曲导入故事，激发学生的兴趣，为本课的学习故事做铺垫。
