【新课导入】

Step 1: Lead-in

Talk about tea with students. How many kinds of drinks do you know? Can you name some? What’s the most popular drink in the world? (Tea) How much do you know about tea? How many kinds of tea do you know?

【新知学习】

Step 2: Work on 3a-3c

1. Look through the title. Guess what it is about?

(We can know from the title that the invention is tea and the invention is an accident.)

2. How many parts are there in this passage? (3)

What’s the main idea of each paragraph? Read the passage quickly and match each paragraph with its main idea. Ask students to put up their hands if they have finished it. Then ask some students to tell the class the answers and why they think so.

3. Scan the answers for the following:

? When was tea first drunk?

? How was tea invented?

? Who is called “the saint of tea”?

? What is Cha Jing about?

? When was tea brought to other countries?

Students read and write down their answers on the textbook. While students working, the teacher moves around to offer help.

4. 3c. Complete the sentences with the correct forms of the verbs in the box.

Look through the words and sentences with the students, and then let them write down their answers. When they finished, ask some students to read the whole sentences one by one.
