2)Prepare a speech for the graduation.

【教学过程】

Step 1: Lead-in

T:Boys and girls, How fast the time goes by ! We have already spent three years together. During the three years ,we have many wonderful memories and experiences. Do you remember them ? Let’s enjoy it .

Show some pictures and music about students’ beautiful junior school life memories.

Step 2: Pair work.

Now we will graduate from junior high school. Maybe you are sad, but the future will be exciting. I know all of you must have your dreams, what are they? What do you want to be when you grow up? Talk about your dreams with your partner

(设计意图: 通过回忆初中 三年生活的美 好记忆,让学生进入一个轻松愉悦的学习氛围中,然后What do you hope to do in the future? 引入本课将要探讨的话题。)

Step 3:Presentation

Besides these jobs, we have learned many different kinds of jobs, can you say the jobs?

T: When I was a child, I wanted to be a teacher, I hoped to teach my students English, I studied hard. Today, my dream comes true, what do you hope to do in the future? Ask the stu dents to w rite down what they hope to do in the future in 1a.

Group work. Talk about what they hope to do in the future like this dialogue in a group of four .

A: What do you hope to do in the future?

B: I hope to get a business degree and become a manager. What about you?

A: ... C: … D: …

(设计意图:让学生写下自己将来最 想做的事情, 并且以小组的形式分享自己的理想,及培养了学生的口语表达能力又培养了他们的合作精神。更为下面将要进行的听力做好铺垫。)

Step 4:Listening

1.Before listening

Show th e pict ures and ask the students to guess what they want to be .

(设计意图: 让学生表述 图片中所展示其他学生的理想,既锻炼了他们的口语表达能力,又让学生充分了解了听力内容。培养听力之前也阅读听力材料的良好习惯。)

2. While listening

1)T: We will listen to a conversation between Mrs Chen and her students, the students will graduate from junior high school, they are talking about the feelings and their hopes in the future .Play the r ecord for the first time and check(√) the hopes you hear. (1c)

2) Play the record for the second time and match the names of the students with their dreams.

Bob is going to improve her English to teach kids English in the future

Ken is going to try to get into a music school and play in a band

Shirley would like to be an astronaut and go into space
