Step 1. Warm—up

Greetings

Enjoy the phonics song

(Purpose: Enjoy the video about the phonics with gestures to make a good preparation for the new learning.)

Step 2. Presentation

Design the situation:Five mice

(1) Listen to the sound and guess what is that? A mouse.

(2)How many can you guess? Five mice

(3)What time is it? It’s 11:30

(4)Guess where are they going? Maybe…

(Purpose: Since the aim of this class is to learn the words with “i-e”, so I choose the picture book “Five mice” as the example to stimulate students’ interests to learn. Moreover I use the XIWO whiteboard to make students guess the content, which is effective.)
