Step 2 Presentation
Play a ball game to present the ordinal numbers to students.
板书 first second third fourth fifth
Show some pictures to consolidate the ordinal numbers of 1 to 5.
Go on learning the special ordinal numbers. Like eight nine twelve twenty.
Ask students to finish the rest of 2a by themselves. Try to summarize the rules of turning cardinal numbers into ordinal numbers. Pay attention to several special numbers.
One ---first two ---- second three ---third
Five---fifth twelve--- twelfth
Eight--- eighth nine---ninth
Twenty--- twentieth thirty--- thirtieth
Twenty-one --- twenty- first
Step 3 Consolidation
Listen and follow. Pay attention to the pronunciation of "th".
Play a game to consolidate ordinal numbers.

Review the twelve months in English. Lead to the important sentence pattern in this section,What's the date today? And the expression of date.(板书 date)
What's the date today? It's May 15th, 2013. Or It's15th May,2013.
The expression of date: month date, year; date month, year. Pay attention, in the expression of date, ordinal numbers should be used.
Ask students to finish 2b. Then check the answers.
Step 4 Practice
Play the song Happy Birthday to create a real situation of birthday and tell students that tomorrow is my birthday. I plan to go to see a movie with my friends to celebrate it. (板书 birthday, celebrate, plan.)
Have a talk with students.
