Stage 1: Pre-reading

Sing the song Day of the week to review the names of the days of the week.

Tell the students about the group-division.

Look at the picture and ask and answer.

Play the game: Find out the names of subjects.

Ask and answer with the pictures to review the present continous tense and the names of subjects.

Watch the flash and answer questions with the given words on the screen. Do 2a.

Present some new words in 1a.

Listen to 1a and answer the question: What does Maria think of English?

Stage 2: While-reading

Read 1a and complete the table on Page 19.

Watch the video and ask students to read after it.

Explain some key points.

Read 1a in pairs.

Stage 3: Post-reading

Teach new words in 2b while asking students questions and then lead to 2b.

Work in pairs. Look at the pictures and make up new conversations. Do 2b.

In this period, students practiced the ways of expressing likes and dislikes and the reasons by listening, asking and answering between the teacher and students, surveying in groups and so on. Everyone has his/her own likes and dislikes, so the teacher should give students correct guide about each subject. And students should arrange their time well while learning different subjects.
