Enable the Ss to talk about the sports meeting with others.

Teaching Procedures:

Step 1: Warming up:

T: I am tired now.

Ss: Why?

T: Because we had a sports meeting yesterday, and I did very well in it .I took part in the running race and the throwing, and I am the winner.

Step 2: Presentation:

The teacher shows the pictures about “the running race” on PPT, explains what’s the meaning of “take part in”. Then let the Ss look at the pictures and say the sentences.

The teacher shows the pictures of the sports meeting on PPT , then asks like this “What sport did you take part in?”The Ss try to answer.

Through the picture, the teacher tries to ask like this “Did you win?”The Ss answer , then the teacher tries to use ”Yes. I was the first in the running race. ”or ”I lost it” to answer .

T: My friend Liu Zhaoyang also took part in the sports meeting yesterday, do you want to know what sport did Liu Zhaoyang take part in?

5.The teacher shows a picture of Liu and Amy on PPT ,then asks some questions:

How does Liu Zhaoyang look?

What did he do at the sports meeting?

Who was the first in the 100-meter race?

6.The Ss listen to the dialogue, find the answers.

7.The teacher checks the answers then let the Ss read the dialogue together , and corrects the Ss’ pronunciation.

Step 3 : Practice

The teacher and the Ss do the role play.

Two Ss make a dialogue ,then show us.

Let the Ss use the important sentences to retell the dialogue.

Sing a song with the sentences in the dialogue.

We had the sports meeting yesterday.

What sport did you take part in ?

I took part in the long jump.

And I was the first in it.

Great ! Let’s do sports every day and be healthy.

Step 4: Conclusion:

1.Do a survey about the sports meeting.
