3). Emotional objectives: ① Students will be glade to know the differences about birthday celebration in different culture . ② Students will be brave and confident to express their ideas; ③ Students’ learning interest and initiatives will be developed.

4). The key points and difficult points:

Key points: Students can master the sentence patterns for this class, such as Did...do...? What did...do...?

Difficult points: Students can talk about their activities in the past.

5). Learning strategies:

① Students will be brave to express their ideas by imitating the record or the teacher’s pronunciation. ② Students can remember the vocabularies by word formation and association memorizing methods; ③ Students can predict the main idea with the help of the pictures; ④ Students can finish the learning tasks by teamwork.

6) Teaching aids: The smart teaching system, students’ pads, teacher’s cellphone, some chalks, blackboard, PPT etc. .

II. The Analysis of the Teaching Methods: The Task-based teaching method and the Competition teaching method can increase the class efficiency, arouse the students’ learning interest and help them learn about teamwork.

III. The Analysis of the Learning Methods: The independent inquiry learning method can arouse the students’ learning initiatives, and help them discover and even solve the problems by themselves. Therefore, their confidence of English learning will be heightened.

IV. The Analysis of the Teaching Procedures

1. Overall Plan: Getting ready for the class(5 minutes ) -- Pre-listening (15 minutes) -- While-listening (10 minutes) -- Post-listening (13 minutes) -- Summary(1 minute) -- Homework(1 minute)

2. Detailed Teaching Procedures and Purposes

Stage 1 Getting ready for the class: 1) Enjoy a piece of music Good Time and have a free talk. 2) Have a quick dictation on pads. 3) Teacher analyse the results with the students, and give comments.

Purpose: ① Warm up. ② Teacher can know how well the students have previewed Section A. ③ Students can review what they have learnt in Topic 2 and get ready for the class.

Stage 2 Pre-listening: 1) Play a boom game and congratulate the winner(s). 2) Play a guessing game: Did Carly enjoy herself? Why? What did she do?

Purpose: ① Students can brainstorm the phrases about some common activities; ② Students can get familiar with the new phrases , sentence patterns, and learn something about the past forms of some common regular and irregular verbs in free talks and games;

Stage 3 While-listening: 1) Students listen to 1a for the first time, and answer the following questions: How was Kangkang’s birthday party? Did Kangkang enjoy himself? 2) Students look at the pictures and predict the answers for 1b, then listen to 1a for the second time and check their answers with the help of the sentence patterns like What did .. do at Kangkang’s birthday party?He/She .... 3) Students listen to 1a for the third time, and follow it.

Purpose: ① Students can develop their abilities of listening and predicting. ② Students can practice the key sentence patterns of this class like What did .. do at Kangkang’s birthday party?He/She .... ③ Students can pay more attention to their pronunciation and intonation by imitating.

Stage 4 Post-listening: 1) Students practice reading 1a in different ways: first in groups, then in pairs/by themselves, and finally act 1a out in various kinds of PK; 2) Students listen to Part 2 and finish the exercises on pads; 3) Teacher analyzes the result and ask some students to share their listening skills. 4) Pair work: Students make up some dialogues about what the children did at Kangkang’s birthday party with the help of the following sentence pattern: Did......? What did...do...? and record and send their dialogues to the teacher on their pads; 5) Teacher choose some of the dialogues, then students compare them together and vote for the best one(s).

Purpose: ①?The students can achieve the objectives of this class by further practice;② They will be more confident about learning and using English. ③ Students can develop their listening skills and learn from each other by teamwork and competition. ④ Students and give comments to each other.

Stage 5 Summary: 1) Teacher encourages the students to sum up the class on the pads by themselves. 2) Teacher announces and congratulates the winners with the students.

Purpose: ① The students can rethink what they have learned in class by summarizing. ② Teacher can know how well the students have learned about this class.

Stage 6 Homework

Teacher assigns the homework as follows:

1) Recite 1a;2) Watch the micro lesson to learn more about Past Simple, and finish the related exercises.3) Write down five things you did yesterday.

Purpose:① Students' ability of learning and using English will be improved. ② Students can study independently and master the Past Simple better.
