Teacher presents pictures of some cities quickly and students tell what city it is. (London, New York, Shanghai)
Students say some sentences about the cities. Teacher adds some sentences and distinguishes all the sentences with “facts” and “opinions”
Present a picture of Wuhan and tell students the tasks today
While-reading
Learn part 1. Scan and find out the answers. Circle the numbers.
Question : How many districts and how many people are there in Wuhan?
T: Wuhan is a big city. Because it has a large area, a large population and fast-growing economy.
Glance and underline the topic sentence of part 2.
“Wuhan is a city of rivers.”
Listen, read and answer

Take students go over part 2 again and mark the words or sentences with topic sentence, number, example, opinion and reasons.
