北师大版英语九年级全册《Unit 5 Literature Skillls Speaking Acting out a play》优秀教案教学设计

Students in grade 9 are less energetic and active than they were in grade 7 or 8. They still have interests in studying English, but longer passage and more new words make them feel that learning English becomes harder, thus they need something interesting to cheer them up. This class can make it work. Besides, the story which is easy to read also talks about the things they are interested, thus it will for sure help them in English study.

Teaching aims:

Knowledge Objectives: By the end of this class, Ss will be able to grasp words like “king, queen, prime minister, banker, wealth, power, fame, palace” and phrases like “neither...nor..., call in, pale as chalk”etc. Besides, the key sentences structure “make + adj./do ” will be frequently used.

Ability Objectives: By the end of this class, Students will learn to use some reading skills such as scanning and skimming while reading. They will also get to know how to read a narrative writing.

Moral Objectives: By the end of this class, students will find the importance of cooperation with their classmates and they will understand what can truly make people happy.

Type of lesson: A new lesson

Class period: 40minutes

Important points: a) New words and phrases.

b) the target structure of this unit“make + adj./do ”

c) reading skills

Difficult points: Using the reading skills scanning and skimming
