3. Emotional aim: think of issues from different aspects and make good use of different materials to learn knowledge.

Teaching difficulties: the proper words and functional phrases to enrich the composition

Teaching procedures:

1. Greetings.

2. Lead-in: T: “David has brought his schoolbag to the recording room. Tell us, David, what’s in your schoolbag?”

David: “There are books, exercise books, dictionaries and so on…”

T: “We can see that most of the objects in his bag are text-books.”(teach the word of “textbook”) “Are all your schoolbags full of textbooks?”

ss: “Yes.”

T: “Are they heavy?”

ss: “Yes.”

T: “Good news to you, with the help of high technology, a product which is lighter has been invented to replace paper books. What’s that?”(e-book)

T teaches the meaning of e-book.

T: “Today, we are going to write a composition about opinions on e-textbooks and paper textbooks. Before writing, let’s brainstorm first. What aspects will you write in your article?”

引入:通过学生的书包引入纸质课本的话题,从而为电子课本和纸质课本讨论做铺垫。

3. Pre-writing: discussion about structure

Four parts included: 1). Introduction

2). the advantages and disadvantages of paper textbooks

3) the advantages and disadvantages of e-textbooks

4) Conclusion/Personal opinions/Summary

T guides ss to summarize them into 4 parts and put them in the writing order.

学习策略:通过头脑风暴讨论出写作的四个部分,搭出框架。

4. Pre-writing: discussion about detailed information

T:”How do we introduce the topic in the beginning?” T encourages ss to talk about some phrases and sentences, then add some more useful expressions.

Useful expressions:

With the development of high technology, more and more people tend to read e-books.
