Learn and think --- The life cycle of a butterfly (Science)

本单元的主题是“People”,而本节课是第6单元模块的最后一个period的学习,因此学生已经对“人类的生活”有了一定的概念和语言积累,本课运用故事Thunder’s Birthday为一个切入口,引导学生将视角从“人类的生命周期”转移到“昆虫的生命周期”,意图将学习内容从学生已有的知识层面,自然而然地转移到另一个范畴---自然科学,拓宽学生的眼界和知识面,以语言为工具,学习其他学科内容。

在本节课的学习过程中,学生们通过小组合作完成学习任务卡,来提高合作学习能力和交流能力,通过听故事和互问互答学习活动,锻炼听说能力和思维能力。

通过本节课的学习,学生们课后能够动手制动一个mobile,表达自己对蝴蝶的生命周期的理解,并能用英语介绍,延伸语言能力,激发兴趣。再继续阅读青蛙的生命周期作为拓展,通过对比两种生命周期的相同点和不同点,锻炼对比分析能力,从而提高思维能力。

We have been working on small group cooperate learning, seat changing during the alternative teaching and through the performance to show the understanding of the new language.

Students already need to know the life cycle of a person, and the basic rules for learning in group.
