Step1. Pre-reading

1.T:How are you? Do you have a friend? Who is your friend?What’s he/she like?

How do you think? Can they be friends?

Have students say their opinions.

T:Yes,it is strange. Today we’re going to learn this story”The lion and the mouse”. In this story, the lion and the mouse became friends. What happened between them? Let’s enjoy the story-- The lion and the mouse (Blackboard Writing)

After reading, we’ll get the answer.

Look at the lion. What do you think of it?

Let students read quickly and circle the time.

Let students listen to the story and underline the verbs.

Read paragraph 2.
