Teaching procedures:

Part one: Lead-in

The teacher plays a short song to students and the students brainstorm what they can hear via the radio(songs, news, stories,advertisements...).

The teacher guides students to learn some new words by looking and describing the pictures. After that, students read the new words after the teacher and practise the new words by playing a game called ‘close your eyes and guess’.(new words: telescope, astronomer, spaceship, alien, delighted, fun,autograph)

Part Two: listening

Step one: Pre-listening

Students look at three pictures and guess what will happen in the news report..

Step Two: listening

students listen to the whole passage and match the main idea with each paragraph
