(必修)英语3一年级《Theme A Life and Attitude Emotions Unit 1 Hope and Love Listening and Speaking》优秀教案

To enable students to use the words and expressions they learned to talk about their New Year’s resolutions.

Teaching Difficulties:

Get students to use different listening skills, such as note-taking and predicting, according to different tasks.

Get students to listen for detailed information, for example, what Henry said in the dialogue.

Get students to write their New Year’s resolutions based on their understanding of the model passage’s structure.

Teaching Procedures:

Lead-in

T: Today we are going to talk about New Year’s resolutions and how to express them, but before that, there is a question— What is a New Year’s resolution? Do you know the answer? So let’s watch a video to find out the answer. Also, you need to find out the answers to another two questions: one is “What is Dr.J’s New Year’s resolution?”; another one is “Why does he make this?”. Clear? While you are watching, don’t forget to take some notes.

(video about New Year’s resolution)

(read the definition of New Year’s resolution together)

A New Year’s resolution is something that you do new, something better that you do to improve your life and yourself, to make yourself a better person.

Pre-listening

S3:......

While-listening

Listen for the gist. (whole dialogue)

T: Here, Henry, Tian Ye and Jeff are talking about their New Year’s resolutions. Let’s listen to what they are saying and answer the two questions: What is their probable relationship?(predict first) Who has made the most resolutions?

(listen and check the answers)

(2) Listen for specific and detailed information. (part by part)

T: Tian Ye has made four resolutions, what are they? Listen again and fill in the table.

T: How about Henry? How many resolutions does he make? What are they? Listen to this part again, but this time, pay attention to what Henry said.

(check the answers:I’ve been looking forward to quitting smoking. I’ll also make those resolutions. This means Henry will make the same resolutions as Tian Ye, so how many resolutions has Henry made? And they are ...)
