StepⅠ Pre-reading

1. Say something about teacher. “You look/are …”

2. Enjoy the song “Be what you want to be” and catch the main words about jobs.

3. Read and guess the words about jobs.

(1) Work in the kitchen and cook nice food. (cook)

(2) Work on the road and drive for others. (driver)

(3) Write books for children. (writer)

(4) Work in the sky and fly spaceship to the Moon. (astronaut)

(5) Work in the hospital and care about people’s teeth. (dentist)

(6) Work on the farm and plant fruit and vegetables. (farmer)

4. Try to say more words about jobs. And talk about their future dream.

T: What do you want to be in the future?

S: I want to be … in the future.

StepⅡ While-reading

1. Look at the picture, watch a video and try to guess “What do the children want to be in the future?”

T: What do the children want to be in the future?

S: I think … wants to be … in the future.

2. Look at the pictures with their future dreams and check. Try to report like this: “… wants to be …. in the future.”

3. Think and guess “What’s the reasons for their dreams?”. Students try to say “Maybe … thinks …”.

4. Read and match the reasons with the dreams. And try to report in the way “… wants to be … Because …”

5. Think and discuss your favourite dream and the reasons. Try to report “I like …’s dream because…”

6. Watch and think about two questions:

(1)What does Miss Li think about their dreams?

(2)What’s Miss Li’s dream?

7. (1) Answer Q1 and another question “What do you think about their dreams?” Try to use one word to answer.
