Nearly four hundred years ago, the Pilgrims(清教徒)
in England wanted to establish(建立) their own religion(宗教).Afraid of the continuous punishment or killing by the king. They escaped to Holland and then travelled from Holland to America in a ship named ”Mayflower”. After struggling against hunger and diseases for almost a year, the Pilgrims succeeded in making a living. To thank the local Indians and God for the kind offer and the mercy (仁慈),they held a thanksgiving party. Ninety Indians went to celebrate it together with them.
