(200 cm taller/shorter, weigh much more/less, eat much more/less, eat many times more)

This elephant eats much more than this panda.

This elephant eats many （１５）times than this panda a day .

Language points

1. weigh v.重量是……；称……的重量

用作及物动词时,接名词、代词作宾语。like,weigh the eggs, weigh it...

weigh也可表示某物重达多少,接表示数量的名词性状语。

The big stone weighs 123,456 kilos.

名词形式为 weight。

2. This elephant weighs many times more than this panda.

many times more than意为“比……多很多倍”。

拓展：英语中常用的倍数表达法：

（1）“A+谓语动词+ 倍数+形容词/副词的比较级+

than +B”表示“A比B……多少倍”。

He runs three times faster than his brother.

他跑得比他弟弟快三倍。

（2）“A+谓语动词+倍数+as+形容词/副词的原级+as+B”
