Try to protect the animals.

教学重点

1. Some words and phrases: lion, tiger, elephant, monkey, at, panda, dream, lonely, miss, animal, go to the zoo, look at, in the zoo, in the forest.

2. Help students to learn the animals in the zoo in English and review the Present Continuous Tense.

教学难点

1. Help the students learn how to describe the animals using the Present Continuous Tense.

2. Some difficult sentences:

(1) Are they eating donuts?

(2) Monkeys like to eat bananas.

(3) He looks cute/ lonely.

教师准备：制作多媒体课件及图画。

学生准备：笔记本。

Have a free talk with the students:

1. What’s your name?

2. How are you?

3. How much is your coat?Have a free talk with the teacher.提高学生的口语水平。★Presentation

1. 放映多媒体课件，呈现动物图画：

Say: Look at Picture 1, what is it? It’s a lion.(Help the students answer.)

Let the students guess the meaning of “lion”.

Teach the other words tiger, elephant, monkey, panda in the same way.

2. 放映多媒体课件，呈现并播放课本第二部分图画及录音，然后回答下面的问题：

(1) What are the monkeys doing?

(2) Is the tiger eating meat?

(3) Is the elephant sleeping?

(4) What is the lion doing?

3. 讨论：

What do you think of the animals in the zoo？Are they really happy?Look at the pictures.
