Teaching procedure:

Step1:Greeting the students.Review what we learned in last lesson and ask students their hobbies,then lead in.

Step2:Read the text by yourself and circle the words you don’t know or the important phrases in your eyes.

Step3:According to what they found,teacher teaches the important words and phrases.

For example: not only......but also.......

Take up

Be interested in.....

Such as

Enjoy doing something

Help....do......

Step4:Read the text again and finish “Let’s do it”part 1.then check the answers.

Step5:Work in groups .Read the lesson and organize the hobbies into the following groups.

Step6:watch the video and match the names with the hobbies.

Wang I love playing chess in my spare time .

Li I enjoy playing basketball.

Sun I like to play table tennis.

Step7:Talk about your hobbies in your groups.Then speak out your hobbies.(So,not only from the book but also from our daily life we know that different people have different hobbies,a good hobby is help you a lot.Remember the old saying:A happy child has a hobby.I also write one sentence for you :A good hobby can make a good person.I hope you can write some for yourselves.)

Step8: Giving Homework:

1. write a short passage about your hobbies.

2.finish the exercise on workbook.

Summary:

In this lesson we go on to learn something about hobbies.After class most of them wrote their hobbies and finished the exercise well.After this lesson students learned different types of hobbies and different people have different hobbies.They knew that hobbies are important for them .
