To help students get to know the influence of modern technology and instruct them to get into the habit of reading.

Teaching Important Points:

1.To help students master some words, phrases and sentence patterns about the history of books.

2.To help students talk about the history of books by using the vocabulary.

Teaching Difficult Points:

To lead students to talk about advantages and disadvantages of books and e-books.

Teaching Strategies:

At the beginning of the class, the teacher shows a lot of pictures to help students know about the history of books in general. During the class, the teacher divides the whole class into 6 groups and let them work in groups to solve difficult problems which they meet in class. Teacher assigns different activities for students to do in every step, such as Spelling Bee, Reading and Order, telling the history of books and Discussion. Students learn the language points in the certain circumstance while they are practicing their language skills such as speaking, reading and writing.

Learning Strategies:

Students need to preview the text before new lesson, which is good for developing their self-study. They should grasp the meanings of new words and phrases by looking them up in the dictionaries and surf the Internet to find out information about books, Computers and the Internet. During the lesson, students can grasp every chance to communicate with others in English to get more information, which is good for their cooperation. They can ask others for help if they have difficulties in learning. By doing these, they can get the methods to do self-study and group-study.
