1. Part I The pronunciation of al.

A. Introduce my puppy to the Ss His name is Budderball. He’s tall. His father is tall. His mother is tall. All the people in his family are tall. He likes playing football. Lead out the words Budderball/tall/All /football. Guide the Ss to read them and find out the pronunciation of al.

B. Group work:I can play with letters.

Help Ss to learn the sounds of al and combination of letters by themselves as possible as they can.

2. Part II The pronunciation of ar.

A. Tell Ss Budderball is lost. Ask the S Where is Budderball?

①Is he in the car ? ②Is he in the yard(花园)?

③Is he in the park(公园)? ④Is he in the barn(谷仓)?

At last, they find Budderball in the barn.

B. Show the four words car/yard/park/barn on the PPT.

Read the words and ask Which sound do you often hear? Lead out the pronunciation of ar.

C. Watch the flash about the pronunciation of ar.

D. Personal work:Teacher reads, one student spells.

【设计意图:以上两个环节是引导学生对字母组合ar/al在单词中的发音,与此同时,在教学中通过拆音、拼音、和分类等语音意识训练活动,引导学生进行发现式的学习,学生通过观察、感知、体验并自己归纳出ar/al在单词中发长音/ɑ:/ & /?:/,通过对单词的发音,让学生掌握拼读发音的技巧,从而突破本节课的重难点。】

3. Part III Four tasks about Let’s spell.

Task 1 Read, listen and chant.

Ask the Ss to listen and repeat. At last, chant it together.

Task 2 Read, listen and number.

Organize the Ss to spell the words out. And then listen and number the words on Page 26. Then check some individuals.
