about the changes on themselves.
3. observe the old photos and talk about the changes of themselves and their friends.

Ⅴ. Teaching Procedures
Step 1 Greeting
Free talk. Get to know teachers and students. Talk about colours, personality and abilities.
（设计意图：谈话导入，让学生了解老师，说一说老师的现在和自己的现在，激活描述人物的旧知。通过描述老师小时候的样子，激活过去式已有的旧知。）
Step 2 Lead in the topic
PPT show pictures of Mike and his friends. Now Mike’s friends are visiting his home. Ask students do the exercises of “Let’s try” and then check.
（设计意图：Let’s try部分先通过读图，了解文本中的三个人物以及对话发生的场景，通过‘It was five years ago.’这个时间点，推测出照片中Little Mike当时所处的年级，再次让学生明确本课的重点语法知识是过去式。）
Step 3 Learn the dialogue
Listen to the whole dialogue and find out the changes they talking about.
（设计意图：整体输入文本语言，让学生感知目标文本，有整理的概念。）
Students read the photos of Mike ,and talk about ‘How did Mike change?’
Students read the photos of John ,and talk about ‘How did John change?’
（设计意图：将目标文本分两段来处理，让学生感知谈论变化时，可以从哪些方面描述，并熟练和习得目标词和句。）
4. Read along with the tape and read freely.
5. Role play.
（设计意图：给学生充分的听读时间，并对他们进行朗读指导，注意发音和语流。）

（设计意图：通过看自己小时候的照片，真实地谈论自己的变化，将语言知识转化为语言能力，一生在说，其余同学听，教师根据学生的介绍进行有针对性地提问该生的变化。）
