Students have learned something about what poems are. They know some basic rule like rhyming. But they don’t have many chances to learn about English poems in their daily life. They may feel afraid to write poems because they are not confident to write poems in English.

五.教学过程:

Step 1: Warm up

I prepared two songs. “Little Star” and “ Dying in the Sun”.

First, students listen, sing and dance with the music “Little Star”. They know

what is rhyming which is the first tip for poems.

Then, students try to find the rhyming words in the second song.

We talk about the topics about the poetic music.

Step 2: Learn about poets around the world

I show two poems by two poets in China and a Western country.

First, students try to compare the two poems by two different poets.

Then we also talk about the topics about poems.

Step 3: Enjoy more poems

I prepare three poems.

(1) The first poem is about pets. Boys and girls read it separately with some

reading tips for poems. They will know the second tip for poems, which is

repeating. Then students finish task paper Task 1. They try to change some words

of the poem with the tips. At last, they share their thoughts with each other. From

this part, they also learn to love animals and protect them.

(2) The second poem is about rain. First, students guess what the poems is about

by listening to the sound and having a look at the picture. Then, one boy and one

girl read it with reading tips for poems. They will also do Task 2 on the task paper

to change parts of the poem. They will get a new tip which is imagination. They

also learn to love everything in nature.

(3) The third poem is about wind. First they read it by themselves. Then they use

pictures I give them and imagination to change the poem. I will do one example.

That is a new tip which is making your imagination move to make your poem

vivid. Students learn to fly their imagination in this part to express what they

think in Task 3 on the task paper.

Step 4: Make a conclusion and try to write a whole poem by themselves
