Step 1Lead-in

1.Start the topic of the story by talking about the MV from the movie Alice in Wonderland.

2.Check the students’ prior knowledge of the story.

Step 2Revision

1.Show the students four pictures of the story and ask them to arrange the pictures in chronological order.

2.Ask the students to find the right parts of the story describing the pictures.

Step 3 Mind-mapping

1.Encourage the students to find the verbs or verb phrases used in different parts of the text.

2. Help the students to recall the details of Alice’s story by mind-mapping.

3.Ask the students to retell Alice’s story with the help of the mind map.

Step 4 Language-focus

1. Show the students a flash movie about Alice’s sister and focus on some important words and expressions.

2. Ask the students to complete a short story about Alice’s sister with the key words and expressions.

Step 5 Speaking-up

1. Listen to a conversation between Alice and her sister and answer a few questions.

2. Encourage the students to make up a similar dialogue about the amazing things in the story.

Step 6 Digging-up

1. Ask the students to read through the lines and find out how Alice might feel at different time.

2. Encourage the students to dig up why Alice might feel that way.

Step 7 Reading & writing

1. Ask the students to read two short articles about how Alice might get out of the hall.

2. Encourage the students to use their imagination and come up with more possible solutions.

3.Ask the students to write down their own ideas.

Step 8 Encouragements

Encourage the students to learn more about the author Lewis Carroll and read more English books.

Homework:

1. Share your ideas with your classmates and ask them for advice.

2.Read the rest part of the story.
